Outer Banks Day 5

Coquina Beach DunesGood morning… 3:45 am here local time. Yesterday visited Wanchese Harbor in the AM and Coquina Beach in he PM for the sunset shoot. The harbor greeted us with the sun breaking through the clouds with glorious Godbeams and the beach… well, it was rough up until the last 20 minutes or so (thanks to Laurie Excel an outstanding teacher at the event, who saw me about to throw my camera, tripod and gear into the Atlantic… yes, I was that disappointed in the images up ’til that point).  Laurie found a sweet little spot, with a dune fence, and great sky looming behind it.  Snapped away, and ended up deleting about 100 other images up to that point.

Sometimes it just takes a little help… Sometimes it just takes one spot in the world, that has ‘drama’ and personality to make your image.  I shot this spot 5 different ways, haven’t had a chance to go through them all and sort them out… Hell it’s 4:00 am and I’m heading out the door to shoot the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
