The Essence of Manhattan

Manhattan is big. Big Buildings, Big Icons. BIG.

So how do you capture a sliver of its energy, its life, its pulse?

Take a picture of its street scenes. Capture the people that make the city… “THE CITY.” According to some articles the population of New York City exceeds 8 Million, with over 1.5M in Manhattan alone… I think I might have captured oh, about 75 people or so in this picture. But its flavor is very “Manhattan”. The rich color of the buildings’ bricks, the cobblestone streets, the old-time street lamps. And the people doing what people do best~ sit and be human… connect and enjoy, and take in the ambience of the place around you. I’ve travelled pretty extensively around the United States (not the globe yet… one day), and there are many great cities… but there truly is only ONE New York.
