Tiger at the Pin

As I continue to go through my shots from the US Open practice round, came across this one of Tiger at the pin. He was testing the greens on 15 ~ rolling some balls to see how the greens broke. After putting a few, he would take out a little notebook and write some notes (maybe writing his favorite RUSH lyrics???).

As I write this, he stands at +2 over par in the Open.. hoping he can turn it on between rain drops and ugly skies to make a comeback, although I am enjoying the amateurs who are really making a go of it at Bethpage.

Tiger at the PinIn finishing this image, I really wanted to make the colors ‘pop’, almost over the top without going into the land of HDR (High Dynamic Range). Loved the black and white striped red flag with US OPEN draping to the ground~ compositionally, thought that would be a strong anchor to have Tiger against. The crowd was blurred nicely (shooting at f4-4.8 with the 1.7x extender on my 70-200mm f2.8) which put Tiger into sharp focus in the foreground.

Ran Topaz Adjust on the image SOOC (Straight-Out-Of-Camera) and lowered the opacity, again, to not make the image go to ‘color’ crazy… liked the result. Enjoy!
