St Thomas, New York City

The architecture of the Churches throughout NYC has long amazed me. The arches, vaulted ceilings, and stained glass… all built brick by brick without the aid of modern-day construction equipment.

Simply awe inspiring stuff…

A hidden treasure on 5th Ave is St. Thomas. It’s altar is a must-see, and its interior is a must photograph. Be prepared to crank up the ISO and use a fast lens- I believe my D# was pushing 1600-2200 and i was shooting at f2.8, f3.2 wherever I could. The conversion to B&W was done in Lightroom using a preset… I always like that look and feel of old places in grayscale… seems to add to the weight of the history (or something like that)…

Enjoy!
